ROMNEY - Bentford K. Patton, 54, of Romney, died at 10:20 a.m. Monday at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville where he had been a patient for four days. Mr. Patton was born in Cumberland County in Kentucky Jan. 14 1912, a son of John and Edna Vaughn Patton. He was married to Louise Bruton April 9, 1939 in Glasgow, Ky. He had been employed in farming and had lived in Linden, New Richmond and Romney the last 15 years. Mr. Patton was a member of the Linden Baptist Church. Surviving are the widow, two daughters, Mrs. Reta White of Darlington and Miss Kathy Patton of Wingate; two sons, David Patton of Crawfordsville and Leroy Patton of Wingate; his mother, Mrs. Edna Patton of Glasgow, Ky.; two brothers, Printis Patton of Glasgow and Cue Patton of Chicago; three sisters, Mrs. Mable Holman of Cave City, Ky., Mrs. Thelma Grider of Chicago and Mrs. Scretha Morgan of Glasgow, Ky.; four grandsons, and several nieces and nephews. The body will be taken to Glasgow, Ky. for funeral services and burial.
